FRANCIS JR.GLAZEBROOK, Glazebrook Dies In Copter Crash: Army SP/4 Francis Glazebrook, Jr., 21, was killed on September 8, 1967, in Vietnam in the crash of a helicopter in which he was a gunner. His wife, Eunice, was notified here the past weekend.
Private Glazebrook had been in service in Vietnam for the past eleven months and was scheduled to return to the United States next month.
He was a 1964 graduate of Twin Cedars High School. Other survivors include an infant daughter, Kimberly Kay, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Glazebrook Sr. of Des Moines. (Knoxville Journal Express)
Funeral services for SP/4 Francis Glazebrook Jr. who died September 8, 1967, while serving with the Army in Vietnam, were held September 18, from ByBee and Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Edmund Kleidon officiating.
Military honors were accorded at Graceland Cemetery by Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 113th Armory, National Guard.
Pallbearers were Terry King, Robert Vos, Wesley Vos, Kim Hanson, James French, and Richard Lambirth. Mrs. Lois Anderson accompanied Marvin Kelley, soloist.
Francis E., son of Francis and Ella Chipp Glazebrook, was born July 9, 1946, in Warren County and attended Knoxville Schools through the 10th grade. He graduated from Twin Cedars High School in 1964 and was inducted into the Army in January 1966.
On May 21, 1966, he was united in marriage to Eunice Kleidon at Knoxville.
Surviving is his wife Eunice; daughter Kimberly Kay; his parents; one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Joyce) Teague, Maiden, NC; and a brother Merrill Glazebrook of Des Moines, Iowa.
