Frances Anne (Gholson) Fountain, 76, of Pukalani, passed away on
January 6, 2011, in Pukalani.
She was born on August 8, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa.
Services were held on Monday,
Jan 17 at 189 Piimauna St, Pukalani.
Francesanne was a retired Legal Secretary.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Fountain and husband Pat Lindgren, sons;
Mark Fountain and wife Teresa, Drs. Nathan Fountain and wife Linda; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six sisters and a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fountain, Francesanne 1934-2011 in Kihei, HI – Francesanne Fountain, 76, left this world on January 6, 2011, after a brief illness with cancer.
She was with her daughter, Jessica Fountain, on Maui, and was also attended by her sons, Mark Fountain, of California, and Dr. Nathan Fountain, of Virginia.
Francesanne was born on August 8, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa to Benjamin Harrison and Nellie Gholson. She enjoyed success acting, especially at The Drama Workshop in Hedda Gabler and The Importance of Being
Earnest and she adapted and directed Animal Farm, leading to a life-long love of theater and the arts.
After marrying, her first two children Mark and Jessica were
born in Iowa. Her family then moved to California where her third child, Nathan was born. She had a long career as an outstanding legal secretary, culminating at a large legal firm in San Francisco.
She returned to Iowa upon retirement and recently relocated to Maui near her daughter. She had an insatiable curiosity and absorbed
college classes throughout her life, complementing her passion for historical biographies.
She was widely known for the depth and breadth of her knowledge, her quick wit, and sophistication.
She is deeply missed by her three children and their spouses,
eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, her siblings and their spouses Harrison and Hank Gholson, Marita and Jack Mastrofski, Adrienna and Louie Clark, Susan Gholson, and Dale Convey, Sally Garfield, Molly (who passed six days later), and Jim Schoonover and Michaeleen Parks, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces
and nephews. Sisters Clover Gholson, Jauson Streeter, Jalene Wilson, and Cherri Pitcher preceded her in death.
A dedication ceremony in her honor for the rejuvenation
of the Lilac Arboretum will be held at Ewing Park, 5300 Indianola Avenue, Des Moines, Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m.
