Frances Elaine (Balmer) Laird was born September 27, 1942, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Burton Elmer Balmer (b.1912-d.1976) and Winifred Lorene Klootwyk (b.1916-d.1980)

She graduated in Knoxville with the Class of 1961, and on August 10, 1962 was united in marriage to
Charles Lee Laird, son of Marvin and Fonda Laird.

Born to this union were two children Cindy Lynn on July 6, 1963 and Scott Charles on August 5, 1964.

>Fran was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Knoxville when she and Charles moved to Emporia, Kansas,
where she died at her home on December 19, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She enjoyed the coffee-time and singing in the church choir and the fellowship she had with her friends and family.

Surviving her are her loving husband Charles; son Scott (Tammy Dykstra) Laird, and their children;
Luke Aaron, Caleb Charles, and Tanner Jonathan;
daughter; Cindy (Jeffrey Shirley) and their children: Josiah Lynn and Cheyenne Elizabeth. Also brothers; Jerry and Kenny; sister Colleen (Richard) Willis.
