Funeral Services for Floyd R. Durham, 63, of Melcher, who died Monday. July 3, 2000 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Saturday, July 8 at First Baptist Church in Belvidere, Rev. Rex Rogers officiated at the service. Intermen was at the Belvidere City Cemetery.
Floyd was born on June 20, 1934 in Knoxville, the son of Clyde and Elsie (Maddy) Durham. He graduated from Knoxville High School.
Floyd was a retired district insurance agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belvidere, Ill., a member of Life Underwriters, Million Dollar Round Table and a former member of Belvidere Jay-Cee’s. He loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. Floyd was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Durham and one brother, John Durham.
Floyd is survived by his father, Clyde Durham of Melcher; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Mark and Julie Durham of Machesney Park, Ill., David and Lynn Durham of Belvidere, Ill. Paul and Darlene Durham of Belvidere Ill. and Jacob Durham of Belvidere, Ill. three daughters and sons-in-law Theresa and Steve Merenkov of Walnut Ridge, Calif., Brenda and David Quest of Belvidere, Ill. and Kimberly Durham and Kyle Rosenberger of Rockford, Ill. a sister, Zelpha Richards of Des Moines; his former wife, Nyla Cadie, Belvidere, a special friend, Maureen Robinson of Melcher; and 16 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association in Care of the family.
