Funeral services for Mrs Florence Oswald, who died Sept. 10, 1973 at Collins Memorial Hospital, were held Sept. 12 from Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Leonard E. Deaver officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. Chapel music was provided.
Florence, daughter Of Oral Lee and Estella Woodruff Wright,was born Jan. 2, 1900 in Knoxville where she graduated from high school.
She took her first two years of liberal arts at Ward-Belmont college for women at Nashville, Tenn., and Lake Forest (Ill.) College and her last two years at state University of Iowa where she received a B.A. degree. She was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She as a member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter M, P.E.O. Mary Marion, Chapter, D.A.R., and Knoxville Chapter 85, Order of Eastern Star.
She was married to Jack Oswald and resided in Lincoln, Neb., where their daughter, Mrs. W.T.,(Ruth Elizabeth) Metz of Burlington, was born. She is also survived by three
grand-children.
