Funeral services for Eunice Dorothy Van Vark, 75, of Lamoni, formerly of Knoxville, who died May 8, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, were held May 12, 1998, at the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Knoxville.

Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Rev. Paddy Druhl officiated at the services.

Eunice was born March 27, 1923, in Sheridan, Wyoming, the daughter of Bradford Charles and Jane Eunice Anderson Burdick. She moved from Wyoming to Knoxville with her family when she was in the eighth grade. She graduated from Knoxville High School.

She was united in marriage to Robert Lee Van Vark on December 18, 1941, in Unionville, Mo. The couple lived in Pella for five years while Bob served in World War II. They then moved to Knoxville. She worked as a housekeeper at the VA Hospital in Knoxville from 1971, until her retirement in 1988. She then moved to Lamoni. She was member of the Presbyterin Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bradford Burdick; and two sisters, Marjorie Kerr and Ruth Louwsma.

She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Hammer of Lamoni, Linda Stangl of Marion, Margaret Christian of Indianola, Carol Witter of Pasadena, Texas, and Karen Poush of Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
