Elmo Knowler, died June 14, 1957, he was the son of Walter V. Knowler (b.1914 d.1976) and Eva Vinn Pettis Sebby (b.Sept 23, 1925, d.Jan 20, 2005).
Elmo was a student in the fifth grade at the Knoxville school.
The boy had been helping to repair the tractor on the John Slykhuis farm nine miles northwest of here and took it out on the road to test the brakes.
The machine skidded into a ditch when he tried to make a turn on the narrow road.
Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa.
