Elizabeth Merritt (Evans) was born on September 12, 1907 in Pleasantville, Iowa to
Arlington Jordan and Jessie Merritt Evans.
Her family moved to Knoxville when Elizabeth was in eighth grade and she graduated from Knoxville High School in 1925.
She attended Drake University and obtained a teaching certificate. Elizabeth married Robert Eaton
and had three children, Marilyn Martha, Robert Evans and his twin William Henry who died at birth.
She then went to a business school in Des Moines. She married Owen Williams in 1937 and they moved to Kansas City where their son John Thomas was born in 1940.
Owen went to war and after he came home they moved to Superior, Wisconsin to buy a store which they worked in until retirement.
They moved to San Marcos, California for their retirement and Owen passed away in 1989.
Elizabeth was well into her 90’s when she moved from California to Massachusetts where she celebrated her one-hundredth birthday.
She passed away on February 25, 2008 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren and many friends and family.
Her ashes were buried in Pleasantville, Iowa.
