Eleanor Bellamy08/12/2016
Eleanor (Bellamy) Hopkins was born on January 7, 1928. She passed away peacefully at Kavanagh House Hospice this past August 12, 2016, following a myriad of chronic and acute health issues to which she finally succumbed. She lived for 88 wonderful years, primarily within the state of Iowa, and never too far from her hometown of Knoxville.

She was an elementary teacher in the Des Moines Public Schools until her retirement in 1994. She was also active in PEO, served on the Unity Church Board, her condo board, and various other volunteer positions in the Des Moines Community.

Summers and vacations were spent at her beloved Gull Lake cabin in Brainerd, Minnesota. Fun times of fishing, swimming, and relaxing were enjoyed by family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ruth Culver Bellamy, her brother, Richard C. Bellamy, her eldest child Ruthann Hopkins, and many other dear family and friends.
