Eileen Kingery was born on April 22, 1938, the middle daughter of Cecil and Wilma (Verwers) Richards. She grew up around the Melcher area, attending grade school there. She later moved to Knoxville, where she graduated from Knoxville High School in 1956.
After high school, Eileen worked at the bookstore in Knoxville. She married Norman Kingery on March 8, 1959, in Melcher. The two used to ride the bus together, but they were reacquainted while standing up together at their best friends wedding. They were blessed with two sons: Tim and Jody. She then became a homemaker and was able to stay home with her children.
Eileen enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She loved to volunteer, and at one time, she moved to Columbia and got involved with the church and helped on the committee. She enjoyed being a mother, and often would go camping and fishing with the family.
The state fair was a highlight of Eileens as well, as was going to Mt. Pleasant to the Old Threshers event and traveling to Branson to fish and enjoy with other couples. Eileen and Norman enjoyed square dancing. They made many good friends at dances over the years.
Eileen loved her family and was especially close to her grandchildren. They meant so much to her.
Eileen passed away October 22, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Norman; sons: Tim (Laura) Kingery, and Jody Kingery; grandchildren: Steve, Ashley, Jessica, John, and Caleb; and many relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Cecil and Wilma Richards; and siblings: Faye Coulson and Vernon Richards.
