Earnest Edmund Phillips, 79, of Red Oak, died Saturday at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital here.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, at Nelson Boylan Funeral Chapel here with Dr. Robert Hill presiding. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born May 12, 1904 in Knoxville to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin G. Phillips. He married Bernice Mable Carlisle (b.1916 – d.2002) February 6, 1926 and lived in Neola and Nebraska City, Nebraska before moving to Red Oak in 1977.

A book binder by trade, he later worked for Vigan Chevrolet and Gamboni Motors in Nebraska City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors are his wife, daughter Kay Stack and son-in-law Richard of Indianola and granddaughter Susie Kimzey and Kris Thorton.
