Doris (Turner) Bauer daughter, of Arlo Paul and Rachel Turner, was born near Chariton
on May 4, 1927, and passed away on Jan. 15, 1988, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mrs. Bauer graduated from Knoxville High School and worked in Knoxville and Newton
for several years. She had lived in Des Moines for 11 years. She was a data system
technician for the Des Moines Post Office.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Cathedral
in Des Moines. Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters: Rachel Blake, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mary Niederbach
and Pauline Bauer of Des Moines; one son, Theodore Bauer of Des Moines; a sister
Mary Truman of Lacona; a brother Arlo Turner of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and three grandchildren,
Melissa and Rachel Blake of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Josiah Neiderbach of Des Moines.
Private graveside services were held on Jan. 18, 1988. Burial was in the Greenwood
Cemetery near Knoxville.
A memorial service was held Jan. 19, 1988, at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines.”
