Services for Doris Elizabeth (Clarke) Hindman, 66, of Pleasantville, who died Oct. 29, 1985 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital of complications from emphysema, were held Nov 1 at Sacred Heart Church in Melcher. Bybee and Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev. Ernest Braida officiated at the services. Music was provided by Fern Spolar, organist, and the Sacred Heart Church Choir.
Pallbearers were Tom and Bill Clarke, Harlan Chandler, Lionel Bybee, Grant Core, and Jerry Sense.
Mrs. Hindman was born on June 10, 1919, in Marion County, the daughter of John Joe and Stella Bybee Clarke She was a 1936 graduate of Knoxville High School and later attended Drake University and the University of Iowa. She married Robert Gosnell who preceded her in death.
She made her home in Springfield, where she was a computer programmer for the I.R.S. until her marriage to Richard Hindman on July 16, 1977, at which time they moved to a farm near Pleasantville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Melcher.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, one son, John Gosnell of St. Louis, Mo.: one daughter, Mrs. David (Lois) McRoberts of Tuscon, Ariz.; one stepson, Ronald Hindman of Pascagoula, Miss.; and one stepdaughter, Becky Hindman of Pella.
