A celebration of life for Donna Lorrraine Allen Park, 87, of Knoxville, will be held Sunday, November 30th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made in care of Donna’s husband Max, and will be designated at a later date.
Donna Lorraine Allen was born July 18, 1938, to Sam and Ruby (Bailey) Allen in Harvey, Iowa. Donna was one of seven children raised by Sam and Ruby.
Donna graduated from Knoxville High School in 1956. She worked as a waitress as a young lady and was close friends with Max Park. Donna and Max were married in 1964 and have been inseparable ever since.
Donna retired from Pella Corp after 30 plus years of employment, and she was very proud to have never missed a day of work!
She will be remembered by many for her excellent fudge and her family will remember the tremendous Thanksgiving dinners.
She enjoyed collecting cookie jars, she has accumulated a collection of thousands from the 50’s and 60’s. She also loved to work in her garden, tending flowers, and keeping up the lawn.
She always enjoyed her time with Max, but most of all fishing and going to rummage sales.
Everyone will remember Donna as soft spoken and kind, doing for others, and having such a beautiful heart. Her kindness was easily seen in her giggle, she had a great sense of humor.
Survived by husband, Max; daughter, Julie Park; sister, Patty Laymon; grandchildren, Sam Walton, Dan (Megan) Henning, and Drew Henning; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Sam and Ruby Allen; children: Steve Henning, Carrie Henning, and Cindy Henning; siblings: Jerry Morse, Darlene Bishop, Sammy Smith, Bob Allen, and Jack Allen.
