Donald Joseph “Don” Martinache, age 51, of Knoxville died Sunday morning, August 24, 2014 at his residence in Knoxville.
Don was born and raised in Knoxville, Iowa on July 6, 1963, the son of Lyle Edwin and Kathy Louise (Stubbs) Harvey. He graduated from Knoxville High School, class of 1981.
After high school Don stayed in Knoxville. He was in the reserves for a short time and was employed for 31 years with 3M.
Don enjoyed the outdoors and water recreation. He hunted, fished, boated, canoed and kayaked. Don also liked watching NASCAR Races, gardening and yard work. He greatly missed his daily coffee with his mother.
Don is survived by his daughter Elizabeth “Nicky” & Keith Jones; one granddaughter Riley Bingham; and two step grandsons, Brock and Maddox Jones; and his father Lyle Harvey; and Don’s special friend Amanda Irving all of Knoxville.
Don is also survived by his sister Kimberly Cook of Miles City, Montana; his brother Kevin Martinache and Joe Claibourn of Adel; two aunts, Loretta Wooldridge and Jennifer Krpan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Harvey and his grandparents, Carolyn and Ralph Stubbs, Helen Harvey, and Hilda and Earl Martinache.
Don’s wishes were to be cremated and Don’s family will greet friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
Following the visitation a graveside memorial service for Don will be held at 2:30 p.m. also on Thursday, August 28th, at the Bellefountain Cemetery of Tracy, Iowa.
A memorial may be given to Don’s family and will be decided at a later date. Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com.
