Services for Donald William Luther, 58, of Pleasantville, who died May 9, 1986 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held May 13 at the Pleasantville Church of Christ.
Mason Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements:
Interment was in Graceland, Cemetery.
Pastor Don Hill officiated at the services. Music was provided by, James Hoffman, organist, and Joann Heaberlin, Marian Clark, and James Petersen, Vocalists
Pallbearers were Andy Murr, Steve South, Delno Jones, Carl Wilson, Jim Onstank, and Jack Swarthout. Honorary bearers were Dean Garrett, Gene Williams, Elmer Jordan, Charles Clark, Russell Hunt, and Fred Metcalf.
Mr. Luther was born Aug. 24, 1927 at Knoxville, the son of Frank and Lela Louise Conrey Luther.
He spent his early life in Knoxville and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
On June 20, 1948, he married Norma Siefken They made their home in Knoxville until 1961 when they moved to Pleasantville.
He was employed by Maytag Company for 37 years as an electrician and was a member of the Pleasantville Church of Christ; Pleasant Lodge No 128, AF & AM and the AF of L-C.I.O.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Shirley Hancock and Kerry Orr, both of Knoxville, and Barbara Pettyjohn and Bridget Luther, both of Pleasantville; lA grandchildren; his mother, Louise Holzworth of Knoxville; two sister, Donna Lonnell of Los Angeles, Calif. and Ellajane Stein of Louisville, Ken.; and one brother, John Holzworth Omaha, Neb.
A memorial has been established to the Pleasantville Church of Christ.
