Donald Eugene Goad

Don was born on August 30,1929 in Knoxville, the son of Leo and
Etta Jordan Goad. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947.

He farmed until
December of 1949 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force with many of his
close friends. He was discharged on December 7, 1954.

He married Chloe Crandall
on February 10,1956 in Knoxville. They lived their entire married lives in Marion
County. Don joined the Iowa Air National Guard in December of 1956. He was discharged
is 1983 after serving as an aircraft mechanic for 27 years. He was an active member
of the Knoxville VFW and enjoyed bowling, hunting and playing cards with his friends.

Don passed away at his home in Knoxville on July 3, 2005, at the age of 75 years,
10 months and three days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
one sister. Patricia Dunham.

His is survived by his wife Chloe; two sons David and
Doug; and two grandchildren, Daniel Goad and Jessica Nichols; all of Knoxville;
one niece Cheryl Lang of Carlisle; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral
Services for Don were Thursday July 7, 2005 at EvansMcCleery Funeral Home with Minister
Dale Blanshan officiating. Music played was " How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk".

Casket bearers were Larry Cummings, Don Cummings, Les Spaur, Larry Spaur,
John Mc Coy, and Jim McCoy. Honorary Casket Bearers were Bob VanZee, Ralph Hedrick.
Charlie Sims, Ralph Dyer, Richard Sullivan, Bill Roth, Jim Cummings, Stan Metcalf.
Clarence Loynachan, Bob McRoberts, and Hugh Glissman.

Interment was at Graceland
Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Baty-Tucker Post 168, American Legion
and John Myers Post 3519, VFW.
