Diana Jean “Deanie” (Allen) Visser was born November 9, 1955 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter
of Duane and Maxine (Schakel) Allen.

Deanie was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Class of 1974. During high
school she was a lifeguard at the Knoxville Pool. She worked for Jim Darnell’s DX
station after high school.

On April 24, 1978 she was united in marriage to Mike Visser in Unionville, Missouri.
The couple lived south of Knoxville until 1992, when they moved to Pella. Deanie
and Mike owned and operated Mike Visser’s Cycle Works in Pella from 1988 to 2006.
For the last few years, Deanie has worked at the Comfort Inn in Pella.

In her spare time, Deanie enjoyed antiquing, rummage sales, quilting and was a member
of the Pella Quilt Guild. She also liked working in her flower garden and taking
care of the yard. She and Mike would go rock hunting, mushrooming and collected
Indian artifacts. One of Deanie’s favorite memories was visiting her daughter, Sundance,
while she was studying abroad in Paris.

Deanie passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 57 years.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Mike of Pella; daughter, Sundance
of Fairbanks, Alaska; parents, Duane and Maxine Allen of Shenandoah, Iowa; brother,
Michael of Shenandoah, Iowa and her sister, Deborah Allen of Clarinda and many other
family members and friends.
