Dennis Dwight Williams, Sr. was born July 14, 1952, in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Charles Dwight Williams and Phyllis LaVaun (Efnor) Williams.

Dennis was raised in Knoxville and was active in the FFA. During high school, he worked at Dick Rowland’s service station. He graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1970. As a young man, Dennis trucked for a few years. On April 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Vickie Simmons. Dennis worked at 3M for the last 36 years as a coater and fork truck operator. He also farmed his family’s ground for most of his life.

In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed sprint car racing and until 4 years ago he never missed the Nationals. He and Vickie also enjoyed traveling with their family.

Dennis passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his home at the age of 69 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor Dennis’ memory include his wife, Vickie; children: Nikki (Troy) Freese, Heather (Dennis) Dunkin, Amanda (Josh) Pettera, and Dennis, Jr. “Dude” (Sara) Williams; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Jennifer (Melvin) Hoch; niece, Amber Hoch (Devin Brees); great-nephew and niece, Layland and Roxie Kennedy and many other family members and friends.
