David Carrol Wolfe was born October 15, 1942, in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Carrol Reese and Magdalene (Blurton) Wolfe. He graduated from Knoxville High School and entered the United States Marine Corps. David served his country honorably for 4 years and then returned home to Knoxville.

On April 20, 1962, David was united in marriage to Judy Goemaat. He worked with his father in the family business, Wolfe Appliance, selling and servicing Maytag products. After David closed the business, he worked at the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center in HVAC and refrigeration. He retired in 2001.

David was an outdoorsman, he liked to bow hunt, fish and collect arrowheads. He also enjoyed researching family genealogy and Knoxville history. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and a former member of the Marion County Sherriff’s Reserve.
David’s greatest joy in life was his family, he was especially proud of his children and grandchildren.

David passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 78 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim. Those left to honor David’s memory include his wife, Judy; daughter, Laura (Terry) Craig of Washington; son, Kelly Wolfe of Knoxville; three grandchildren: Devin Wolfe, Millie Craig, and Emma Craig; siblings: Jeri (Al) Uitermarkt of Knoxville, Sandra (John) Siewert of Florida and Michael (Millie) Wolfe of Georgia and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service for David C. Wolfe, age 78 of Knoxville, will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will follow the service at the funeral home.

Following the service, David will be cremated and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Marion County Historical Society or to the Hospice of Pella.
