David D. Dircks, 72 of Devils Lake ND passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, atSanford Medical
Center, Fargo ND with his loving family at his side.
There will be a Celebration of Dave’s life on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at “The Shores”, Woodland Resort, rural Devils Lake. The Open House will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. Services will be live streamed. More information to follow.
David D., son of Richard and Genevieve “Jenny” (Howard) Dircks was born on July 17, 1953, in Aledo, Illinois. Dave lived in Columbus Junction, New London and Knoxville, Iowa, graduating from High School in Knoxville in 1971. He continued his education at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, earning a degree in Sociology in 1975. While at Simpson College, Dave participated in football and baseball.
After graduating from College, Dave began a forty-four-year career in Telecommunications working in Ely, Two Harbors and Milaca, Minnesota. While working at the phone company in Milaca, he met and later married his beloved Donna Broberg on July 17, 1982, in Milaca. They moved to McGregor, MN for a time and then to Devils Lake, ND. Dave was the General Manager of the NDTC for 29 years, retiring in 2019.
Dave loved fishing, hunting (deer, turkey, pheasants) and watching his grandkids participating in sporting events. He enjoyed his garden and mowing lawn. After family and his best canine friend Echo, just relaxing in the peace and quiet of nature brought him much joy.
Dave’s precious family include his wife Donna; daughter Emily and her husband Paul Deede, Bismarck ND and son Jon Dircks, Devils Lake;

grandchildren Ellie, Addie and Easton Deede;
David Dircks mother Jenny Dircks, Pella, Iowa; sisters Robin (Rick) Lathrum, Sacramento CA, Ellen Dircks, Pella IA, Dana Dircks (Gerry) Courtney also Pella; nephews and niece Ryan (Stephen) Lathrum, Lindsay Lathrum, and Jarrod Dircks; great nephews Lincoln and Sam; mother-in-law Audrey Broberg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Diane (Duane) Dahlstrom, Doug (Janice) Broberg, Denise (Shawn) Walker, David (Laura) Broberg and Daniel Broberg and many more nephews and nieces.
Dave was preceded in death by his father Dick, uncle Bob Dircks, and father-in-law Donald Broberg.
