Funeral services for Darold F. Wallace who died at the Veterans hospital, Des Moines, Sept. 12, 1961, were held from the First Methodist Church, Saturday, Sept 16 with Rev. Carl L. Wison officiating. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
Darold F., son of George and Ida Wallace, was born Nov. 20, 1923, at Pleasantville.
He received his schooling in the Knoxville public schools, and in Feb. 1943, he entered the military service as an army engineer.
November 21, 1945, he was united in marriage to Hanna Bertram, Des Moines.
Mr. Wallace was employed with the VA hospital and in addition, worked in the local Gambles store and also for a time in the shoe repair business. He was a member of the First Methodist church.
Surviving is his wife; two daughters, Eileen and Terri; one son, D. T.; his parents; four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Cowman, Mrs. Frank Bittner, Mrs. Ray Briggs, and Mrs. Ernest Safris, all of Knoxville; four brothers, Thurlow, Knoxville; Lee and Lewis of Des Moines and Leo of Council Bluffs.
