Darlene (Coleman) Conway, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2016, at Great River Hospice in West Burlington, Iowa.
She had been struggling with upper respiratory problems for many years. We are glad to know she has no more pain and has the peace she truly wanted for all.
Darlene was born on January 17, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa. She has 6 surviving children, Cindy Krauel of Carroll, Linda Lemon of Sebring, Fla., John Miller of Paris Springs, Mo., Robin Coughenour, and Dayton Larpenter, both of Burlington, and Lori Gruetzmacher of Independence, Mo.; 23 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Darlene enjoyed crocheting, and watching television and loved keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. She used to spend a little time at the casino but later decided games on the computer were just as fun and much less expensive!!!
Darlene never forgot a special occasion, a birthday, a baby shower, a wedding, an anniversary, or special things along the way for the little ones.
She was the most loving, caring, and selfless person anyone could ever hope to know. She will be fondly remembered for her kind and giving nature.
All funds raised will help establish a tiled memorial for Darlene on a water feature within the Great River Hospice House. All monetary contributions allow our family to have a memorial in her honor while helping support the hospice house.
Any contribution to her memorial allows the hospice house to continue as a place of protection and refuge for loved ones who seek closure in their lives in a comfortable, private, and highly personal environment.
Our family would greatly appreciate even the smallest amount of generosity to establish a memorial for Darlene, who selflessly served others her entire life.
Her heart and soul would smile knowing that her family had a forever memorial to come to visit while also helping the Great River Hospice House which provided her a peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful sanctuary in her last days.
