Wallace Daniel Jr. Dan was born September 7, 1944 in Knoxville, the son of Wallace
Daniel Sr. and Dora L. Reed Thomas. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1962.
Dan attended Northeast Missouri Teacher College in Kirksville, Missouri 1963-66.
He served in the Navy from 1966-to 70. He graduated from San Diego State University
in 1978 with a degree in Business Management.
On November 3, 1984, he was united in marriage to Shelley Hoke Madrigal in El Cajon,
California.
Dan Rededicated his heart to the Lord in February 1980 and was baptized on March 17,
1985. Dan fought such a valiant fight against cancer, but it claimed his body in October
31, 1993, at the age of 49 years 1 month, 17 days.
His body was conquered, but his spirit never was. Dan truly loved the Lord and served
Him with every ounce of strength he had until his last breath. His family was at
his side when he so peacefully went to be with the Lord. He will be deeply missed
by his family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Dora (July 28, 1986) Thomas; his paternal
grandparents James Warren (May 11, 1979) and Agnes Viola (April 4, 1990) Thomas;
his maternal grandparents Floyd Myron (November 4, 1972) and Dollie Elizabeth (February
16, 1983) Reed.
Dan is survived by his wife Shelley and sons Scott and Brian Madrigal of Hemet,
California; his father Wallace Sr.; his favorite sister Mrs. Tom (Pat) Kading of 
Knoxville, Iowa.; his nephew Scott Wayne Kading of Naperville, Illinois; his niece
Kristin Danielle Kading of Iowa City, Iowa; his favorite Iowa cousin, Jim Reed,
Dick Reed, John Reed, Nancy Reed Kingrey, and Rita Reed Crabtree and their mother
Ruth Cooney Schlotterbach.
Dan has requested any memorials go to Church Missions.
