Daniel (Tiny) Dean Rankin, age 55 of Knoxville, Iowa passed away on Monday, morning, March 27, 2017, in Knoxville.
A Celebration of life will start at 3:00 P.M., on March 31, 2017, with a prayer officiated by Bill McDonald.
The family will be greeting guests until 6:00 P.M., with an open mic beginning from 5-6 P.M. to share memories at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame (2nd Floor) located at One Sprint Car Capital Place, Knoxville, Iowa. Sprint car apparel is welcome.
Tiny Was born in Knoxville, Iowa on January 13, 1962. Tiny was self-employed, and his specialty was installing siding. He was an amazing son, father, brother, grandfather “papa”, and friend. He enjoyed playing cards, and bags, watching sprint cars and NASCAR racing and spending time with his family and friends.
Tiny is survived by his three children, Jeremy Rankin (Sarah Kennedy, children; Blayton, Coultan, Karalee), Staci Rankin (Jamie Holmes, children; Braxton, Rylyn, Taylor, and Kaylyn), and Daniel Rankin (child; William).
His mother; Olive Rankin, and seven siblings; Janice Fouch (husband Mike, children; Heather, Samantha, Silvia, and Laura (Cody, and children; Jackson, Kinsley, Remi, and Quinlyn), Jeannie Bachman (children; Cody, (child Kindley) and Luke), Judy Philben (husband Kerry, child; Kristen (Davey and child; Halle) Jackie Beaver (husband Robert, children Jocelyn and Jordan), Jennifer Norman 
(husband Joe), Darwin Rankin (child, Dalton), David Rankin (child, Kirstie) and many other family and friends.
Tiny is preceded in death by his father, Donald Darwin Rankin.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the family for final expenses.
