Lester Dale Fee was born October 13, 1935 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Tim and Violet (Noftsger) Fee.
Dale graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1954. He then entered the United States Army and served two years before his honorable discharge.
Dale returned to Knoxville and farmed on his family’s home place west of town. He also worked at Hawkeye Farm Equipment, in Knoxville, for a few years.
On November 25, 1959, Dale was united in marriage to Carolyn Heaton. To this union three children, Susan, Greg, and Scott were born. The couple made their home and farmed near Bussey. Prior to his retirement in 2001, Dale worked 5 years at Vermeer Manufacturing.
Following his retirement, Dale and Carolyn loaded up their camper and drove to Alaska. The couple spent 45 days on the road seeing Alaska and other parts of the United States.
Dale also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with his boys. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, or just walking in the woods. Dale was best known for having an ornery side and joking with his family and friends.
Dale passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at his home at the age of 83 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Greg and Susan, and siblings: Ross, Bill, Don, Velma, Veta, and Vivian.
Those left to honor Dale’s memory include his wife, Carolyn; son, Scott, and wife Deb; grandchildren: Eric and Timmy, Ashley and Trisha, and Jessica, Amber and Brandee; many great-grandchildren; sister, Verdadean Allen, and many other family members and friends.
Visitation for Lester Dale Fee, age 83 of Eddyville, will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.
Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice of Ottumwa.
