Constance “Connie” Colene (Hart) Beebe, 86, of Knoxville, IA; passed away on Saturday,
February 27, 2010, at West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Knoxville.
Visitation
will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from
6-8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, March 2, 2010 also at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
Connie was born on November 22, 1923 in
Washington Township in Marion County to Harold E. and Fairy Glee (Bishop) Hart.
She attended country school in Washington Township and later attended Knoxville
High School.
On February 28, 1940, she married Versal Beebe in Des Moines, Iowa.
Versal later entered into the service during W.W.II and Connie took care of their
three children. Upon his discharge from the service the couple farmed down by Columbia
and that is where their youngest daughter was born.
The couple moved to Tracy, Iowa
in 1951, and stayed there for 13 years before moving to Harvey, Iowa. It was during
this time that Connie worked at Dr. Garrett’s office, where she served as the secretary
for the next 25 years until she retired at the age of 62. Connie was a 4-H Leader
with the Tracy Tigerettes. She enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, working
in the garden, working on genealogy, cooking, and baking.
Connie and Versal also
like to travel all over the United States and Canada. She especially enjoyed her
trips to Yellow Stone, Nashville and Blue Ridge Park Way. Connie’s love in life
was her husband, children and she was very interested in her grandchildren and great
grandchildrens activities.
Survivors include her husband, Versal Beebe of Knoxville,
IA; three children, Margaret (Ron) Gee of Knoxville, IA; Roy Beebe of Pershing,
IA; and Linda Stracke of Bondurant, IA; 2 sisters, Norma Jean Beal of Knoxville,
IA; and Florence Kathleen McDaniel of Yorba Linda, CA; half brother, Larry Ivan
Anderson of Tracy, IA; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great
grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gerald and wife
Linda Beebe, and half brother Richard Anderson.
Serving as casket bearers will be Greg Beebe, Jerry Beebe, Mike Gee, Mark Howe, Todd Stewart, and Rick Silvers. Honorary
casket bearers will be Randy Beebe, Steve Beebe, Ronda Silvers, Elly McKinney, Mary
Howe, Angela Huinker, Vickie Stewart and Kimberly Sytsma.
