Clyde Donald Kirkwood was born on February 2, 1928 in Marion County, the son of Clyde
M. Kirkwood and Eva A. (Scott) Kirkwood.

He was raised in Knoxville, graduating
with the class of 1947. After graduation he worked in a grocery store, and then
for Goff and Nash Auto Parts and he also worked 5 years at the Dairy Queen.

He was
united in marriage to Charlene Johnston in Knoxville on March 25, 1949.

For 45
years he owned and operated Kirkwood, Radiator Shop until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and building and collecting clocks, which
were displayed all over his home. He was a person who loved life and all people and was very thoughtful of everyone.

He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church and the Bell Choir. He had sung in the church choir since he was 15 years
old. Clyde also had served as a church trustee, a MYF counselor and on many church
commissions.

He had been the treasurer of Iowa Lakes Coast Guard, active in the
Jay C's and was a long time member of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce.
