Claudean Mae Avon was born, Dec. 31, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Carl Rees and Francis
(Rahlf) Rees,she was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Knoxville High School
Class or 1953. Following high school, she was united in Marriage to Jerry Glover.
Jerry passed away in 1963, On March 20, 1965 Claudean was united in marriage to
John Avon in Emporia. Virginia. The couple have always made their home in Knoxville.

Claudean worked at Rhymes & Reasons on the square for many years. After the store
closed, she went to work at the V.A. Hospital in the kitchen. She retired in late
1999. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family.
Claudean was a person who was full of life, and she will be remembered as loving
wife, mother and grandmother and a loyal friend by all who knew her. She was a member
of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Iowa Phi Masters of
Beta Sigma Phi for over 30 years.

Claudean passed away on Monday, September 13,
2004 at her home at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 13 days, She was preceded
in death by her parents; three brothers; Robert, Paul and Tommy and her first husband,
Jerry Glover.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John; her children, Danny Glover
of Des Moines, Michael Glover of San Francisco, CA, and Tony Avon (Patricia) of
Knoxville; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Dominic Avon; sisters, Marjory Andrews
of Pleasantville and Nancy Good of Grayslake, IL and a brother, Richard Rees of
Knoxville and many other family members and friends. Funeral Service; First United
Methodist Church – Knoxville, Iowa was held Thursday, September 16, 2004. Rev. Neil
Montz,officiating Musical Selections Christine Myers, organist Donnell States, vocalist
"How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer"

Interment The body will be cremated following the service and burial will be in
Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
