A Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence Jai Moll, 73, of Knoxville, who died January
29, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, was held February 2, 1998, at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Father
Thomas Parlette officiated at the services. Music was provided by St. Anthony’s
Choir, and Martha Prichard, organist. Pallbearers were Mike Beard. Abie Davis. Gene
Knoot, Bob Remy, Bill Shepherd, and Curt Welch.

Clarence was born September 28, 1924, in Pella, the son of Jacob and Christine Jansen
Moll. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1943.

He was united in marriage to Betty Guntren on November 19, 1966, in Knoxville. He
worked for the Marion County Engineer’s Office as Surveying Chief for over 40 years,
retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Knoxville Lions
Club, and Pine Knolls Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of Knoxville; two sons, David and Michael, both of Knoxville;
and a sister, Helen Dannels of Rose Hill.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Knoxville Rescue
Unit.
