Clarence Wilson LaHue, age 77, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville, beginning at 3:00 P.M.
Clarence’s family will be present to greet friends and relatives from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 1:00 P.M. Following services burial with military honors will be held at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Clarence was born on March 5, 1942, in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of Russell Arthur “Ted” and Hazel LeRoy (Robinson) LaHue.
Clarence was raised in Knoxville and was a graduate of Knoxville High School, Class of 1960.
During high school, Clarence began to work in the newspaper printing room in Knoxville. Clarence was in printing most of his working career. Clarence, along with Bob Swan owned and operated the Kwik Service Printing of Knoxville. After retiring from the printing business Clarence worked for 11 years at 3M Manufacturing in Knoxville.
Clarence was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. He and his brother Bill rode RAGBRAI for over 20 years together and had a great passion for bowling. Clarence was a family man. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. He was their hero.
Those left to cherish Clarence’s memory include his loving wife of 52 years, Linda LaHue; their three children, daughter Kristin Harris and her husband Keith and their children Elijah and Gabriel; daughter Michelle “Shelley” McClelland and her husband Patrick and their son Jacoby Sage (Kyra) and their daughter Isabella; and son Russell LaHue (Wendy) and their children Taylor Smith and her husband Andy, and their three children Koda, Kollin, and Kooper, Cali Wooldridge, and Kelli Parrelly and her husband Derek and their children, Scarlett and Donovan.
Clarence is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Waters; his brother William “Bill” LaHue and his wife Beverly and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, Russell “Ted” and Hazel LaHue; his brother-in-law Jack Waters and his niece Susan Marie LaHue.
