A Memorial Service for Cherie Willeen Roquet will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Public visitation with the Roquet family will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Adopt-A-Family or Greene County 4-H.

Obituary:
Cherie Roquet, 84, of Jefferson, Iowa passed away peacefully at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 9, 1938, in Pershing, Iowa, the daughter of William and Martha (Cooper) Nichols.

On August 15, 1960, she married David Roquet at First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Iowa. She thoroughly enjoyed 17 years of being the Greene County youth and 4-H coordinator, touching the lives of many youths along the way. Prior to that she had studied psychology for two years, was an amazing stay-at-home mother and wife, and helped run the family-owned hardware store.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in various communities, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and leading Methodist Youth Fellowship in Knoxville, Fort Dodge, and Jefferson.

She was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. She had a lot of good times being a member of Sweet Adelines. She was truly a servant of the Lord, volunteering for 34 years with Adopt-a-Family and several years volunteering with Meals-on-Wheels and various other organizations. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, reading, gardening, spending time with family, and having coffee and donuts with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Nichols, brother Jim Nichols, sister Judye Sell, brother Rick Nichols, and various other extended family members.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, David Roquet, 4 children: Tim Roquet, Carol Lindhart (husband Chris), Elaine Roquet, Michelle Johnson (husband Jodie), 11 grandchildren: Brice, Beth, Jenna, Kristine, Rachel, Willy, Maggie, Michael, David, Lacey, and Alli, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.Cherie Nichols
