Charles Brian Gullion was born in Knoxville, on Oct. 15, 1964, and was called to
his heavenly home after succumbing to pancreatic cancer on May 26, 2009, at the Dennis
and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy after a 14-month struggle. Charles grew
up in Knoxville spending time in Sheldon, Iowa, and Wilsonville, Oregon, settling
in Cedar Rapids in 1987.

After spending one year with Georgia Pacific in Canby Oregon, he took a position
with Square D in Cedar Rapids where he spent the remainder of his 22-year career
first as a technician, eventually moving to an engineering position. During his
time at Square D, he also attended classes at Kirkwood and the University of Iowa
graduating with the highest distinction and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
in 1999 at the age of 35.

Charles is survived by his wife of 24 years Christine Gullion (Shoemaker), his son
Jeff (Rachel) Gullion, his daughter JoeIle Caswell and his grandson and special
buddy Calyb Caswell and a grandson to be born in July, Michael Charles Gullion all
of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are his maternal grandmother Vera Penick of Indianola, Iowa, his
parentsRalph and Carole Gullion, his sisters Barb Garcia and Sandy Luke, and his
niece and nephew Brittney Garcia and Benjamin Luke all of Knoxville.

Funeral Services were held on May 28 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar RapidsCharles Gullion
by Rev. Jerry Doellinger. An inurnment service will be held on June 6 at Olive Chapel Cemetery in Attica.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be given to Concordia Lutheran
Church debt reduction and the Anna Puma Ghosh Foundation (this organization provides
chemotherapy and other drugs to patients with cancer who are unable to afford them.)
