Interment services for Charles Edwin Ashton, 74, of Roswell, Ga., retired sales manager for General Foods, was born, October 4, 1922 and died December 15, 1996 were held December 19, 1996, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, in St. Louis, Mo.

Charles is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Heinze Ashton; daughter, and son-in-law, Diane Ashton and Walter Duffy, of Brookings, N.D.; two granddaughters, Erin and Rachel Duffy, brother, and sister-in-law, Bob and Neola Ashton, Des Moines, IA.
He was active in Rotary and the Algonquin Country Club.
