Cathie Diane Chandler Fane died Nov. 16, 2017, and was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Nov. 6, 1944, to Winnie McCoy and Dean Chandler.

She attended school in Avoca, Indianola, and Knoxville, Iowa, (where she was Miss Knoxville in the Miss Iowa Pageant).

She received a B.A. from the U of Iowa where she met her husband of 51 years Larry R. Fane.

She was a member of Delta Delta Delta. They lived in Iowa City, New York City, El Paso, Texas; Ft. Eustis, Virginia; Mason City, Iowa; El Campo, Texas; and moved to Georgetown, Texas.

She was a superb actress and director. She helped found children’s theaters in Mason City and El Campo. She was a devoted mother to four children and spent many hours carting them to lessons and activities.

She was an artist, writer of some skill, and a scholar of the Bible. She taught school, worked in retail and served as an associate in ministry. She also taught Sunday school classes and Confirmation classes.

Preceded in death by parents; son, Michael Loy Fane, and son-in-law, Donald Leonetti. She is survived by her husband, daughters: Meredith Fane (Nik Joshi) of Seattle, Washington, and Jennifer Leonetti of Missouri City, Texas, and son, Nathan (Viloleta) of McKinney, Texas.; sister, Vickie Anderson; grandson, Matthew Leonetti; granddaughters, Lauren Leonetti, Anika Joshi, and Abigail Fane; aunt, Wanda Chandler of Omaha.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Dec. 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m.

Interment was held at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery and Prayer Garden on Nov. 19, 2017, at 2 p.m.
