Carolyn Ruth (Still) Reed was born on May 9, 1934, in Knoxville to Charles and Evangeline Zugg Still. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1952.
She married Jim Reed on June 11, 1956, in Unionville, Mo.
A life-long resident of Knoxville, Carolyn worked for many offices in the Marion County Courthouse. She was an active member of the Democratic Party, Marion County Historical Society, and the First Christian Church in Knoxville. One of her greatest loves was sprint car racing
Carolyn died on April 13, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 71 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1976.
She is survived by her son, Kenton of Knoxville; one cousin, Jim Still of Gig Harbor, Wash. And many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on April 17 with Gary Cox officiating
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum.
