Carol Ann (Bacus) Sickle was born on May 18, 1946, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Bert R. and Vera M. (Bucklew) Bacus.

She was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1964. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and received a degree in Human Services.

Carol was united in marriage to Edward Sickle in 1970. She was a life-long resident of Knoxville, except for a brief time that she lived in several parts of the southwest United States. Carol enjoyed her scratch lottery tickets and watching westerns and old black-and-white movies.

Carol Sickle passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the Knoxville Hospital at the age of 67 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Bert.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Scott Sickle of Texas and Melanie Sickle of Slater, Iowa; brother, Ken Bacus of Illinois; mother, Vera Bacus of Knoxville; and grandchildren, Eliza, Molly, Aaron, and Charlie.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3 at 4 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville with Elder Bill McDonald officiating.
