A memorial graveside service for Carl Wilson, 85, of Longview, Texas, who died August 24, 1996, will be held at a later date.
Carl was born September 2, 1910, in Knoxville, the son of Mary Florence and Ernest
Wilson. He was employed by Zales Jewelry Company for 27 years, opening and managing
several stores in Texas. He retired in 1961. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Corps
during World War II, and was a member of the Longview Masonic Lodge #404, and was
a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Longview, and was active
in the Men's Bible Sunday School class. He was a member of the Waco Scottish Rite,
the Sharon Shrine Temple, and a life member of the Crippled Children's Hospital.
He also served on the board of directors of Lake Cherokee Water Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Edythe; four nieces, Florence Agan, Vera Harvey, and
Alberta Mart, all of Knoxville, and Pat Patty of Kellogg; two nephews, Jim Moneysmith
of Davenport, and Larry Moneysmith of Essex.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church and Hospice of Longview.
