Brian “Brownie” Eric O’Donovan Brown, age 58, of Lovilia, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at home in Lovilia.
He was born March 18, 1965, to Charles Larry and Mary Rose (Dethrow) Brown.

Brownie graduated from Knoxville High School, class of 1984. He then graduated from Marshalltown Community College and was on the Dean’s List.

He married Debbie Lahart on August 7, 2004, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Georgetown.

Brownie had many hobbies including working on cars, fishing, woodworking, and mowing the yard.

He was a member of the Lovilia City Council. He was a professional do-gooder and storyteller. He loved to help others and make people laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie of Lovilia; children, Danise “Nieser” (Trey) Hyatt of Knoxville, IA, Brianne (Lucas) Teeter of Albia; Taryn Brown of Lovilia, Brian Ronz Brown of Lovilia; grandchildren, Ava Rash and Emmitt Hyatt, Everlee, Lily-Rose, Noah, and Jonah Teeter; siblings, Kelly (Daniel) Binns of Knoxville, Kirk Brown of Knoxville, Jodi (David) Willardson of Knoxville, Ronnie (Kristy) Brown of Lovilia, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive Brownie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Larry and Mary Rose Brown, and his brother Michael Brown.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, opening to the public at 2:00 p.m., with Brownie’s family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home & Crematory in Albia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening with David Willardson officiating at the funeral home.
