Robert William Kaster, 69, of Marana, Arizona and formerly of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, of surgery complications.

A graveside service will be held June 8, 2019 at the Greenwood Cemetery in rural Knoxville, Iowa.

Robert was born on April 17, 1950, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The son of Edith (Porter) Kaster and Russell Kaster. He grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School with the class of 1968. Soon after graduating he began working for the railroad.

In 1974 Robert and Alvina Renea Pope were married in Knoxville at the First Church of the Nazarene, to this union one child, Shayne Michael, was born. He was later married to Meljean, to this union one child, Jacob Jeremiah was born.

Robert lived in Knoxville until moving to Tucson, Arizona and later to Marana, Arizona. He loved racing his cars. He also enjoyed making the motor in his Dune Buggy specialized and impressing the other racers. Working on his “Red Bus” (a V.W. Bus) was his favorite hobby. By making the motor stronger he was able to pass cars on the freeway enjoying the surprised look on their faces.

Robert is survived by sons, Shayne Kaster of Knoxville Iowa; and Jacob (Whitney) Kaster of Marana, Arizona. Three grandchildren, Kayden, Kirya and Brylynn Kaster of Knoxville, Iowa.
A sister Barbara (Allen) Smith of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Russell Kaster, and two brothers, Russell and Richard Kaster.
