Robert Jesse Caughey was born March 9, 1962 in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of William
and Lucille (Castings) Caughey. Bob grew up in Knoxville graduating with the Knoxville
High School class of 1980. Following graduation he attended the University of Northern
Iowa and Simpson College.
Bob then served four years in the United States Navy where he was recognized with
the Navy Achievement Award. He was honorably discharged in 1987. Bob lived in Knoxville
most of his life with the exception of his Naval service and the three years he
worked for the Kansas City Police Department.
On August 2, 1991 Bob was united in marriage to Angela Braida at St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church in Knoxville. In 1993 he went to work for the Pella Corporation, where he
was employed as a molder. Bob had many interests; he enjoyed working out, swimming,
running, golfing and biking. Bob was employed by the Pella Corporation as a molder.
He was a devoted member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Above all else, Bob
loved his family and he strived everyday to be the best husband and father that
he could be. Bob passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at his home at the age of
46 years, 11 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his father, William
in 1982.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Angela; children, Sarah and Ryan;
mother, Lucille; brother, Bill and sister, Norma Rhoads all of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
