Services for William R. Ridlen, 40, who died Nov. 18, 1983, were held Nov. 21 at
the First United Methodist Church. Bybee and Davis Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.

Rev. Wayne K. Hoehns and Rev. Omar Pettersen officiated at the services. Music was
provided by James Kidder, organist. Pallbearers were CPT Jack Spaur, SFC Gordon
Jones, SFC William Camden, SSG Allan Naaktgeboren, SP5 Nancy Naaktgeboren, and SSG
Howard Wolett.

Mr. Ridlen was born on Nov. 5, 1943 at Knoxville, the son of Milton E. and Darlene
Sarchett Ridlen.

He was a 1961 graduate of Knoxville High School and then attended Southern Mississippi
University. He was a licensed practical nurse and was attending Indian Hills Community
College to become a registered nurse at the time of his death.

On August 25, 1968 he married Donna Edwards at the Fairview Christian Church. He
was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United States Parachute Association,
the 830th Station Hospital, Fort Des Moines, and the Iowa United States Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1970. He is survived by his wife Donna;
two daughters, Chris and Thane, at home; one son David at home; and his mother Darlene
Ridlen of Knoxville.
