Betty June (Roorda) Stittsworth was born on June 17, 1920, in Pella, Iowa the daughter of
John H. Roorda and Iva (Giles) Roorda.

Betty had lived in Pella and Oskaloosa before
moving to Knoxville at about the age of six.

She attended school in Knoxville, graduating
with the class of 1938.

On October 20, 1940, she was married at the Presbyterian
Church, in Knoxville, to Arthur Wilfred Stittsworth.

Through the years, she had worked for the Bellamy Telephone Company, the Marion County Treasurer’s Office, and
the Knoxville School Lunch Program. She also operated her own shop, Country Ceramics.

She was a member of New Covenant Church, Good Sam Club, the Mary Marion Chapter

Betty worked hard her entire life, whether it was on the farm or at one of her other occupations.

She enjoyed raising a big garden and canning and freezing the fruits of her labor. Her greatest joy and satisfaction
was raising her children and seeing them have families of their own.
