Betty Ann (Jones) Lister was born April 3, 1932,Betty Jones the daughter of Vern and Opal (Cobble) Jones.

She was raised in Knoxville and lived there all her life. Betty worked at Maytag in Newton for 30 years. She was an assembly line inspector.

On April 13, 1963, Betty was united in marriage to Robert Bradley “Bob” Lister. The couple operated Bob’s Racing Things. Betty and Bob traveled following the sprint car races selling merchandise for years.

Betty and Bob enjoyed many winters in Florida and summers in Minnesota. Betty always enjoyed camping and was an avid bird watcher.

Betty passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics at the age of 85 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; half-brothers, Raymond and Bruce Pitt and her sister-in-law, Mary Jones.

Those left to cherish Betty’s memory include her children, Hubert “Butch” Clark and his wife Dee of Newton; Mike Lister of Des Moines; Sue Lister of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Dan Clark and his wife Pat of Monroe; Randy Clark and his wife Lela of Knoxville; Kevin Lister of Des Moines; and Jodi Lister of Grass Valley, California; 14 grandchildren; Betty Jonesbrother, Bill Jones of Knoxville; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.

A funeral service for Betty Lister, age 85 of Knoxville, will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to H.C.I. Care Services – Knoxville Office.
