Betty Lee (Ford) Worrall, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013, at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics of Knoxville, Iowa.

Betty was born in Red Rock, Iowa on March 20, 1921, the only daughter of Charles Raymond and Mabel Olive (Buttrey) Ford. Betty attended Red Rock School and also Knoxville High School.

Betty was united in marriage to Ernest Jones on February 16, 1939, and later was blessed with one son Dean. They divorced and on November 6, 1943, in Albia, Iowa Betty was united in marriage to James Worrall. They shared 51 years of marriage together and were blessed with three daughters: Sue, Sherry, and Becky.

Betty was a homemaker raising her four children and she worked at McGraw’s Interior Designs in Knoxville for over 20 years. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church and 50-plus year member of the Rebekah Lodge. She especially loved drives in the country and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and reading.

Betty is survived by her children: Dean Jones and Mary Lou Bingaman of Chariton, Sue (Ken) Thrailkill of Knoxville, Sherry Hersbergen of Pella and Becky (Don) Bingaman of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Worrall; her parents; one brother, Don Ford; one stepdaughter, Rhonda Wright; and one granddaughter, Christy Bingaman.

Visitation for Betty will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville, with Betty’s family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25th, at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville, with Pastor Jim Mead officiating.

A memorial has been established in Betty’s name to HCI Hospice Care Services of Knoxville or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
