Betty Ann Menninga was born May 24, 1932, to Carl Herman and Ida Johanna (Will) Bernahl, on the farm west of Thorton, Iowa.
Betty attended school in Knoxville and was a 1949 graduate of Knoxville High School.
On June 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to Arvan John Menninga in the Lutheran Church. To this union they were blessed with three children: Johnny, Stewart and Cathy.
Throughout her life, Betty worked for Menninga Electric, Town Crier, and the Central College Post Office.
At different times, she served on various committees in Pella: President of Central College Auxiliary,
President of Business Women’s Club and President of Ladies Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed trips to Arkansas to go crafting with her special friends, and bowling with her ladies league.
Betty also enjoyed trips abroad and riding on the motorcycle with Arvan to every state in the lower 48.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Arvan, and their family:

Stewart and Yvonne Menninga, Katie and Bryan Goodyk,,Kolten, Paxton, Trey, Cathy Gordon, Johanna and Wade Puyear, Brandon, Isabelle
Amy Coachman, Kayana, J.J., Laura and Dan Eilers, Olivia, Edison.
Betty is also survived by her brothers: Carl Bernahl, and Wayne and Sharroll Bernahl.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ida Bernahl, parents-in-law John and Margaret Menninga, and her sisters:
Earline Bernahl, and Lorna (Don) Bingham; and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Vernon and Margaret Menninga,
Junior and Janet Van Waardhuizen, and Ruth Bernahl.
