Miss Bertha A. Neely, daughter of Algrin and Emma Neely passed away at Good Shepherd Retirement Home, Sun City, Arizona on March 28, 1984.

She was born August 13, 1910 in Knoxville and attended the Knoxville schools, graduating with the class of 1929 and then attended nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

For a short time she worked at Fort Wingate Indian Reservation, Wingate, Arizona. When World War
11 started she returned to Knoxville and worked several years at the Veterans Hospital.
Upon leaving there she went to North Platte, Nebraska and El Centro, California to make her home with her brother and sister.

The last fourteen years she has lived in Sun City, Arizona. She was preceded by her parents, two brothers: Robert and Henry, and a sister, Malvina.

Surviving is her sister, Willa (Mrs. Harold Carpenter) of Knoxville, two nieces: Judith (Mrs. Norman Metcalf, Phoenix, Arizona) and Karen (Mrs. Gary Archer, Parkersburg, West Virginia). Also two great-nieces: Teresa Metcalf of Phoenix, Arizona and Julie Archer of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and great-nephew,
Kerry Archer of Parkersburg, West Virginia.

She has been a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
