Funeral services for Bernice I. Buckley who died of St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, August 18, 1962 were held from the Red Rock church, Tuesday, August 21 with Rev. Larry Reigel officiating. Burial was in the Red Rock Cemetery, with the Williams funeral home in charge.

Casket bearers were Wayne Applegate, Ted Buttrey, Merl Price,
Hugh Templeton, Henderson Reese and Tink Buttrey.

Mrs. Merl Price, pianist, accompanied Richard Cantrell, soloist. Mrs. Dwight Harvey and Mrs. Hugh Templeton assisted with the flowers.

Bernice Irene, daughter of William A. and Maude Estella Shilling Riherd was born in Red Rock, July 13, 1907.

She was united in marriage to Robert Buckley at Rock Valley in July, 1935. Bernice was reared in the Red Rock area and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1926.

She served as deputy county recorder in 1931-1932, then moved to Rock valley where she spent the remaining years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, John.

Surviving are her husband; her mother, Maude E Riherd; Red Rock; two brothers, Kenneth of Red Rock and Arthur of Bella Plain; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Mabie of Williamsburg and Mrs. Ruby Murphy of Belle Plain.
