Services for Arnold L. Parker, 73, of Lake Marie, Mo., formerly of Knoxville, who died January 23, 1998, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, were held January 25, 1998, at Greenlee-Middleton.
Funeral Chapel. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville. The Rev. Robert Markum officiated at the services. Music was provided by Karla Meinke and Mary Berndt.
Pallbearers were Dominick Derringer, Terry Derringer, Inismet Thomas, Larry Moneysmith, Paul Derringer, and Chad Hines.
Arnold was born December 10, 1924, in Guthrie Center, the son of Albert and Lorraine Brooks Parker.
He graduated from Knoxville High and served in the U.S. Air Force for
nearly three years. He lived in Marion, Ind., for eight years. He moved back to Knoxville and worked for the Maytag Company in Newton for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
He was united in marriage to Blanche Derringer on July 12, 1960, in Vicksburg, Miss. The couple lived in Knoxville until moving to Lake Marie, Mo. In 1993.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche; a son, David Lee Parker of Pella; three step-sons,
John Derringer of Oskaloosa, Donald Derringer of Pella, and Dennis Derringer of Eddyville; a stepdaughter, Margaret Thomas of Des Moines; a half-sister, Carla Keen
of La Crosse, Kan.; two grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 22 step-great- Grandchildren.
