Services for Ardith Lasalle (Byers) Kerr, 59, of Grinnell, who died June 12, 1990, were held June 16 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

Interment was in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell. Rev. Dennis Haas officiated at the services. Music was provided by Marlene Toney, organist.

Pallbearers were Leslie and Steven Fuller and Chris, Cory, Francis, Jr., Garry, James E. and Ronald Kerr

Mrs. Kerr was born Sept. 3, 1930 at Bussey, the daughter of Clarence and Odessa Grapevine Byers.

She later moved to Knoxville with her family where she attended school.

On Oct. 16, 1948 at Newton, she married Francis M. Kerr. They made their home in Newton before moving to Grinnell in 1953.

She was a homemaker and operated a housekeeping service.
She was a member of the American Legion and Eagle Lodge Auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven; two sisters, Betty Byers and Leila Mae Jacobs; and two Brothers, Jerry Lee and Orva W.

She is survived by her husband, five daughters, Judith Meythaler, Linda Kerr, and Rhonda Bortell, all of Grinnell, Eileen Kerr of Des Moines, and Theresa Wallace of Altamonte Springs, Fla; five sons, Francis Jr., James and Garry, all of Grinnell, Brian of O'Fallon, Mo., and Ronald of Des Moines, five sisters, Verdell Mack of Dickinson, Texas, Joyce Land of Belleville, Ill., Mary Courtney of Knoxville; Janice Hisler of North Ft. Myers, Pa. and Yvonne Davidson of Chariton; two brothers, Clarence of Kalmath Falls, Ore. And Hughey of Newton; and 17 grandchildren.
